It’s been a full 16 months since Charley Crockett has released a record. It’s barely a fraction of a typical album release cycle for most artists, but not for Crockett. The Texas singer-songwriter released a total of nine records between 2018 and 2022.
The anticipation for $10 Cowboy, Crockett’s upcoming album, is high due to the extended wait. In a statement, Crockett described the record as a wandering tribute to his homeland.
“This material is written at truck stops, casinos, alleys behind venues, and even in my truck parked on South Congress in Austin,” he shared. “As a ramblin’ man and genuine transient, I believe I have something significant to convey about America.”
