Chronophage Chronophage’s third LP is a highly anticipated revelation filled with poise and delicacy. It encapsulates the tragic essence of the past two years into ten decisive, well-cut crystal songs that are sharp, clear, and weighted. Drawing inspiration from a midpoint between Big Star and the Homosexuals, and envisioning Nick Lowe constructing defiant rejections of the civil structure, Chronophage’s unconstrained melodies and imaginative structures deliver original, liberatory music.
Originating five years ago in Austin, Texas, Chronophage consists of stout participants in the transgressive DIY punk community, with a global presence. With two LPs and a few cassettes under their belt, the band showcases a risk-taking attitude that is both gleeful and dire. Their music reflects a delight in making hard, unexpected decisions, hinting at a necessity for daring in their existence.
