In Your Brain The new record from San Francisco-based band Monophonics, titled “In Your Brain,” explores the fuzzy psych side of soul and funk. Drawing inspiration from pioneers like Sly Stone, Norman Whitfield, and Funkadelic’s George Clinton, this 6-piece ensemble showcases their talent for infusing each composition with a moody vibe. Spanning across cinematic soul, heavy funk, 60’s rock, and spaghetti western influences tinged with yellow sunshine acid, this album promises to captivate and energize listeners.
