Landfall Double vinyl LP pressing. 2018 release. Laurie Anderson and Kronos Quartet’s Landfall is inspired by Anderson’s experience of Hurricane Sandy. This album marks the first collaboration between the iconic storyteller/musician and the groundbreaking string quartet, who perform together on the recording. Landfall combines lush electronics and traditional strings by Kronos with Anderson’s poignant descriptions of loss, ranging from water-logged pianos to disappearing animal species to Dutch karaoke bars. Described by The Washington Post as “riveting” and “gorgeous,” this album showcases the unique blend of talents from both artists.
