Center Of The Frame Old Bear Records is thrilled to present the debut release of The Royal Halls with “Center of the Frame”. Hailing from Batavia, NY, the band is composed of Justin Reynolds (vocals, guitars, keys), Brennan Blowers (drums, percussion, guitars), Ryan McClurg (bass), and Justin Michau (guitars). The album has been a labor of love, meticulously crafted over the past few years, with most of the recording taking place in Justin’s basement alongside the hot water boiler and washing machine. This dedication has resulted in a truly beautiful record, characterized by warmth and depth that captivates listeners. Brennan’s expertise as a studio drummer at Old Bear Studios shines through in the impeccable drum tones, solid foundation, and complementary playing that elevate the songs. The rich layers of ambient textures, vibrant guitar tones, and keys draw listeners into Justin Reynolds’ compelling vocal delivery. The album’s sound is a unique blend of Alt-Country influences, featuring pedal steel by Jeremy Thompson of Brothers McClurg, and emotive vocals reminiscent of John Cougar Mellencamp and Dierks Bentley. The Indie rock elements and intricate instrumentation further add to the band’s distinctive sound, making it a challenge to neatly categorize The Royal Halls within a single genre. Fans of bands like Bears Den will find a similar appeal in The Royal Halls’ music.
